JOB Description: Azure Solution Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Azure Cloud Managed Support team to advance the Azure infrastructure operation toward the scalable and cloud ready vision through automation. The team member is responsible for managing the Azure cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft technology stack and providing application infrastructure support.

An advanced level of understanding of Microsoft Windows & Database 2008 and 2012 Server is desirable (Windows patching, Registry, File system, ACL, GPO, Database installation, configuration, backup & restore tasks, SQL Mirroring & Log Shipping). This position involves end to end platform administration & support tasks across the managed IIS & Database Servers.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Be part of the Azure team responsible for day-to-day operations/escalation point for Active Directory, DNS, and Office 365 mail configuration, Database Servers.

·         Installation and Configuration of the IIS web servers & HA.

·         Installation and Configuration of Database Server in SQL Mirroring & Log Shipping.

·         Coordinate/Plan & Execution activities related to platform maintenance, Disaster Recovery.

·         L3+ escalation for Platform Issue resolution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, configuration & tuning of production and lower-level environments.

·         Perform Capacity, Stability monitoring, Assist with Platform metrics collection and reporting.

·         Contribute to definition, review, documentation & communication of standards and Best Practices.

·         Knowledge of Virtualization technologies VMware & Hyper V & Xen.

·         Troubleshooting AD, ADFS, DNS, DFS, GPO issues/errors and proactively taking appropriate corrective actions.

·         Knowledge on Backup technology.

·         Monitoring system performance and capacity of Windows and Azure environment.

·         Supports the design, analysis, development, and implementation of IIS Projects.

·         Educate customers of all size on the value proposition of managed services on Microsoft Azure, and participate in technical discussions to address customer challenges with cloud workloads.

·         Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Azure technical and partner communities.

·         Implement and support new and existing customers on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Microsoft IaaS, and PaaS.

·         Implement and support new and existing customers on Microsoft Azure Active Directory.

·         Act as a liaison between customers, sales, service engineering teams, and support.

 

Desired Skills:

·         Experience in Microsoft Azure.

·         Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.

·         Experience in scripting specifically PowerShell.

·         Experience in the Azure components & APIs.

·         Experience in the O365 management and Azure integration.

·         Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows and Linux).

·         Knowledge of databases (SQL Server and MySQL)

·         Knowledge of relevant web services, mail, backup, and application monitoring

·         Good knowledge of networking fundamentals

·         Good knowledge of server hardware

·         Good knowledge of application developments using Agile, and DevOps good practices

·         Knowledge of Azure federation services is preferred.

 

Requirements:

·         3+ years Web Infrastructure & systems support analysis experience.

·         Hands on Experience with Azure Infrastructure deployment, Administration, and support.

·         Proficient in Azure cloud services, Iaas, Pass, SaaS etc.

·         Advance knowledge of Azure Monitoring.

·         Working knowledge of MSSQL & MySQL Servers.

·         Proven troubleshooting & issues resolution skills.

·         Ability to analyse & communicate root cause and resolution steps

·         Familiarity with IIS, MSSQL, Azure AD, Azure Backup and Monitoring Best Practices

·         Working knowledge of the IIS software security model and adaptability

·         Passion in learning new technology and creatively solving challenging problems

·         Knowledge of IIS Application Request Routing Installation/Configuration is must.

·         Team player, Strong verbal & written communication skills, ability to work autonomously

·         Demonstrate initiative in helping team, developing new solutions, and improving services.

·         Willing to work in night shift.
